The 110, 23 and 55 cu. ft. nitrogen wheeled units (models 467, 469, 470, 472, 450, 452, 491, 493) and the Argon-charged 680R/681R Class D units, where the Parts Book titles the same part the Argon Valve with Gauge.

What kind of release does it use?

A “T” handle quick release; the owner's manual has the technician slowly open the nitrogen cylinder using the “T” handle operating lever.

What pressure does it work at?

The owner's manual sets a nominal nitrogen charge of 2015 PSI at 70°F (21°C), with 1700 PSI as the minimum acceptable cylinder pressure.

Does a safety precaution apply when servicing it?

Yes - the manual requires the safety vent plug be installed on a “T” handle quick-opening valve to protect service personnel from a high velocity discharge if the lever is opened accidentally.

Where is it listed in the Parts Book?

Item 6 on printed p.17 (PDF p.19), item 10 on p.18 and p.19, and item 6 on p.23.

Does it ship as a single unit?

Yes, one complete valve-and-gauge assembly per part number.

Why use the genuine Amerex part?

The Parts Book notice states the Amerex warranty is voided by generic, off-the-shelf or substitute parts, and that failure to use Amerex replacement parts could cause the extinguisher to malfunction.
