Amerex 12576 questions

What does the Amerex 12576 cap fit?

The agent cylinder on the 110, 23 and 55 cu. ft. nitrogen wheeled units (models 467, 469, 470, 472, 450, 452, 491, 493) and the Argon-charged 680R/681R units.

How is it different from part 06993?

The Parts Book lists both at item 1: 06993 is the plain Cap, Agent Cylinder and 12576 is the same cap with a pressure indicator.

Why does agent cylinder pressure matter?

The owner's manual warns that the agent cylinder must not be pressurized before servicing, and its troubleshooting guide says a cap that will not come off may mean the cylinder is still pressurized.

Does it fit CO2 wheeled units?

No - the CO2 page for models 333 and 334 does not list an agent cylinder cap.

Does the cap gasket come with it?

The Parts Book lists the cap gasket separately as part 02272-P at item 2.

Where is it in the Parts Book?

Item 1 on printed p.17 (PDF p.19), p.18, p.19 and p.23.

Why use the genuine Amerex part?

The Parts Book notice states the Amerex warranty is voided by generic, off-the-shelf or substitute parts, and that failure to use Amerex replacement parts could cause the extinguisher to malfunction.
