Amerex 07309-P001 is the pressure valve for Amerex 125/250 lb dry chemical stored pressure wheeled High Performance and Z-Series extinguishers, models 573, 575, 756 and 758; models 690 and 759 use part 03559 instead. It is the pressure bleeder valve on the extinguisher's discharge valve, and Amerex's service manual directs technicians to use it to reduce cylinder pressure to just below the green operable area before discharging into a closed dry chemical recovery system. Amerex expressly cautions that the bleeder valve must not be used to pressurize the extinguisher, and its cap must be installed to prevent leakage.
